About The Outpost

The property

The Outpost is the only property of its kind within Asheville, and turns 30 years old this year! It is the hub for paddle sports in the city and boasts its large music and event venue, wedding venue, a bar, and 2 river put-ins.

The original outpost was used to harvest sand that had been deposited from the French Broad River and turned into an entertainment & outdoor recreation venue when it was purchased by Asheville Outdoor Center in 1992. It sits just across the river from the historic Biltmore property and is approximately 3 acres large with the entire east side bordering the river.
